Board Certified Behavior Analysts® (BCBAs®) on Birchtree’s Outreach Team provide behavior consultation to families. A Birchtree BCBA works closely with parents/guardians to identify the priorities and focus of the consultation.

Consultation and services by Birchtree’s Board Certified Behavior Analysts® (BCBAs®) are offered throughout New England.
BCBA Consultation for Skill Development
Parents can access the expertise of Birchtree’s BCBAs to focus on skill development in a variety of areas that might: 1) interfere with independence at home and in the community; and/or 2) interfere with participation in family activities and experiences. Some areas of focus might include:
- Social Skills
- Play/Leisure Skills
- Self-Care Routines (e.g., brushing teeth, showering)
- Street Safety
Behavior Assessment and Follow-up Consultation
Birchtree’s BCBAs are available to assess your child’s disruptive behavior patterns and identify strategies to reduce the likelihood of continued engagement in the behavior. Some behaviors of concern might include:
- Sleep Difficulties
- Feeding Difficulties
- Executive Function Deficits (e.g., homework completion, organization, follow-through)
- Behavior Challenges at Home and/or in the Community
Individualized Program Evaluation
Birchtree’s BCBAs also can provide an Individualized Program Evaluation to assess an individual student’s educational, behavioral, and instructional needs and provide recommendations to facilitate skill development and performance across environments. A Behavior Analyst observes the student and his/her current programming, reviews student records, and interviews staff and family members. A written report summarizes a student’s observed behaviors and skills, identifies his/her current level of needs, and makes recommendations for educational and behavioral programming and for the future direction of the student’s program and Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
Supporting Transition to Adulthood
Individuals with autism, other disabilities, and/or behavior challenges may require intensive preparation and support to successfully transition from secondary school to adult life. Birchtree’s Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) can help by providing training, assessments, and consultation for individuals and families.
